Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices.

• Optimize performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements.

• Maintain system reliability through monitoring, debugging, and proactive issue resolution.

• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration.

• Implement security best practices to protect data and applications.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions.

• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards.

• Stay updated on emerging backend technologies and frameworks, introducing them when beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.

• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js (depending on company stack).

• Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and distributed systems.

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservice architecture.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).

• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and real-time data processing.

• Prior experience in high-traffic, large-scale systems.
