Hanki Contractors is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of construction, site formation, and foundation projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in managing full project lifecycles, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
With a focus on aligning projects with client needs and regional regulations, the Construction Project Manager will play a critical role in driving project success and supporting Hanki’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution: Lead the development and implementation of project plans, including scope, schedules, and budgets, for building construction, site formation, and foundation works. Coordinate with planners, engineers, and geotechnical teams to ensure seamless project delivery from concept to completion.
Cost Control and Budget Management: Establish and monitor project budgets, track material and labor costs, and analyze variances to optimize expenses while maintaining quality standards. Prepare detailed cost ledgers and propose cost-saving strategies to maximize investment returns.
Quality and Safety Oversight: Oversee construction quality and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with Hong Kong’s Building Ordinance and industry standards. Conduct regular site inspections, verify material certifications, and address technical challenges to eliminate risks and ensure project milestones are met.
Team Leadership and Coordination: Manage multidisciplinary project teams, defining roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics. Foster collaboration across internal departments and external stakeholders, including contractors, designers, and clients, to resolve issues and drive project progress.
Stakeholder Engagement: Negotiate with project partners, draft agreements, and manage client relationships to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Address community or tenant concerns promptly to maintain positive relations and operational efficiency.
Operational Optimization: Analyze project and operational data (e.g., progress metrics, cost reports) to identify inefficiencies and implement targeted improvements. Develop and maintain systems for tracking project performance and ensuring timely completion.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on Hong Kong’s construction regulations, industry standards, and market trends. Ensure all projects adhere to legal, environmental, and safety requirements, including those specific to challenging or sensitive sites.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven expertise in building construction, site formation, foundation works, or ground investigation projects. Experience in industrial park development or property management is a plus.
Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, cost control, and safety management.
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in project budgeting, cost analysis, and financial forecasting.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to adapt to complex project requirements and work in challenging environments (e.g., urban settings, climatically extreme areas).
Familiarity with Hong Kong’s Building Ordinance and local construction regulations.
Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, HKIE, or equivalent) are highly desirable. Language: Proficiency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus.
