Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, including securities settlement, corporate actions, IPOs, placings, share repurchases, securities lending, and client fund transfers.

• Lead settlement operations across a diverse portfolio, including stock options, fixed income, and OTC derivatives.

• Manage bond and derivatives settlements, including Bond Connect, CIBM, and international bonds. Oversee the OTC derivatives lifecycle, including trade affirmation, ISDA/NAFMII compliance documentation, and collateral management and margining.

• Ensure regulatory and policy compliance with the SFC’s Client Money Rules and Securities and Futures (Keeping of Records) Rules, as well as SFC and HKMA guidelines and internal policies, particularly those relating to client money and AML/KYC protocols.

• Manage HKTR reporting requirements for OTC derivatives.

• Drive UAT for system migrations and automate manual workflows to improve straight-through processing (STP) rates.

• Lead and train the settlement team, acting as a key liaison with the Front Office, IT, Legal and Compliance, and external vendors and regulators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in settlement management and operations.

• Proven track record in effective management at a brokerage or top-tier financial institution.

• Strong understanding of fixed-income products (e.g., Dim Sum bonds and LGFVs), HKEX products, and settlement systems.

• Familiarity with OTC derivatives, such as interest rate swaps and total return swaps.

• Proficiency in CCASS, CMU, Euroclear, Clearstream, and SWIFT (MT/MX).

• Understanding of Northbound/Southbound Trading Link mechanics.

• Strong can-do attitude and ability to navigate the corporate culture of Chinese-funded firms.

• Fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
